North-East Truck Camping Jamboree

Mike T.

I got into Camping when My parents bought a late 60ish brand new 22' Winnebago Brave.. If you have any claustrophobia at all,you were not going to sleep in that rear upper bunk at all.I had all of 24" of head room...

I got into Truck Camping in 1976 by purchasing a 8 and 1/2  1975 Winnebago Truck Camper and left for Yellowstone National Park on my Honeymoon with Catherine...That T/c sat on a 1969 Ford STD cab 3/4 ton "Camper Special" truck with the gas tank sloshing behind the seat...Fuel mileage was so horrific that we had to stop approx.every 150 miles or so...But hey gas was what 35 cents or so at the time...

We got out of camping in the middle 1990s and the Winnebago T/c went off to a loving couple who were just starting out...

In 2000 We purchased a 1999 Lance 1120 wet/bath Truck camper and spent an enjoyable year in it.

In 2001 We acquired a 2001 Lance 1121 slide/out truck camper that in the first 2 years of ownership really made me wounder at times why I got back into T/C camping...But like all classic Campers the bugs were finally worked out...

In 2002 we acquired the Ford f350 extended cab 4x4 Diesel and the world of beach camping came into play...

In 2006 a group of T/Cers decided to get together for a "Jamboree" in Andover Vermont, where yours truly volunteered to become the "WagonMaster", and to my surprise, 20 of you showed up to see what it was all about...

The rest is history!!!!!!
