Anne & Joe Brown
We started our great truck camping adventure April,
2006. We bought a 2005 F-350 DRW diesel extended cab pickup and a 2005
Lance 1121 as a used package. It had 3710 miles when we started and it
has just turned 23,220 miles, almost all of it with the camper loaded
on. For years we had dreamed of travelling in an RV but had always
thought we would be in a larger rig - Joe wanted a bus size!
The
TC has proven a perfect size RV for us, getting us into the wilds of
Maine back roads, urban zoo and gardens of St. Louis, the Blueridge
Parkway, beautiful scenery of Prince Edward Island and beaches from the
Outer Banks of VA to the Eastern Shore of MD. Along the way we have
met many wonderful TCers who have gladly shared their knowledge of
TCing and their travels. We've made friends I know we will keep for
life and hopefully travel along with for years.
We've
just traded our Lance 1121 for a Host Rainier 9'6" dual slide with wet
bath. The Host is lighter, has much larger windows, a bigger "dance
floor" and the challenge of learning to use a wet bath. We really like
the huge skylight, cooking counter area and bed head height.
We live in a rural part of Maine and, when home, we both work in our perennial gardens.
Joe
loves sports; I quilt and knit. We're retired, he from the Coast Guard
and a large shipbuilder; Anne from property management. We hope to get
out west next summer, touring the National Parks and then on to the
west coast. Anyone want to come along?
